The tree care authority hub — built by the people doing the work.
TreeNerd is a reference and tools platform for the tree care industry. We started it because the best arboriculture knowledge was scattered across PDFs, forum threads and half-remembered training — and the open web filled the gap with generic, often wrong, content. So we built the place we wished existed: field tools you'll actually bookmark, libraries that cross-link the way the job does, and a credibility standard you can trust.
One authoritative home for tree work.
Arboriculture sits at the intersection of biology, engineering and hard physical risk. Get a rigging load wrong and someone gets hurt; misread a pest and a client loses a century-old tree. The stakes are too high for content written by people who've never tied into a tree.
Our mission is simple: be the most trusted, most useful resource in the industry. For the professional, that means daily-use calculators, a deep species and pest reference, CEUs and a job board. For the homeowner staring at a leaning oak, it means a plain-English answer and a clear path to a certified arborist. Same authority, two front doors.
We sit in front of Tree Nerd Academy — our hands-on training — and feed it people who want to go deeper. Everything we publish has to earn its place by being more accurate, more practical and more honest than whatever it's competing with in search.
How we keep it credible
Anyone can publish tree content. The bar that matters is whether a working arborist would stake their reputation on it. Here's the standard every page has to clear.
One brand, two front doors
Pros and homeowners want very different things from a tree care site. Rather than water down either, we built distinct experiences that share one authoritative spine — and meet at the directory, where homeowner demand finds professional supply.
The people behind TreeNerd
Beyond the two of us, TreeNerd is written and reviewed by a network of credentialed contributors — ISA-certified arborists, consulting arborists and PHC specialists. Every byline carries real qualifications, and we name our sources. If you're a working pro who wants to contribute, we'd like to hear from you.
Questions, corrections or want to contribute?
We take accuracy seriously — if something here is wrong, tell us and we'll fix it. Partnerships, contributor pitches and press welcome too.
